Bob is a three weapon Master who has over 30 years coaching experience actively teaching and training fencers at all weapons and levels. During his career he has been a GB National coach, heavily involved in establishing National Coaching awards to the highest levels, and runs development programs and pathway initiatives for international fencers. He has regularly staffed residential courses, for performers and trainee coaches alike.

He has coached over 50 National champions involving all ages and weapons. Over this period as a Master he has also trained more coaches in England than anyone else, the number would probably be over 1000. His fencers have won Commonwealth titles and been in major international finals.

Bob believes in coaching the individual, bringing out their strengths and abilities allowing them to fulfil natural potential, whether a trainee fencer or coach.

He currently coaches in London and East Anglia, and holds a full BAF Diploma and level 5 BF coaching certificates in three weapons.

Andrew Nisbet
Andrew Nisbet, British Fencing Foil Coach

Andrew has been a qualified foil coach for nine years and is involved in running fencing at many levels including member of London Region Committee, member of the Armourers Guild, helps to run competitions and coaches at clubs in east and south east London

Fencing teaches far more than just another sport teaching agility and fitness. It also has lessons in life; self-discipline, respect, quick thinking, tactics, loyalty, assertiveness and raises self-esteem, all qualities essential to the development of the individual.
